No one said raising a reactive dog was easy

When you brought your dog home you bought all the kit, read the advice, and enrolled in classes. What you weren't prepared for was:

Lunging at other dogs or people on walks
Barking at every sound
Guarding food, toys, your table at the pub
Destruction of furniture, shoes, anything in reach
Panicking when someone comes to the door
Intense fixation at the sight of a stranger, dog, cyclist, or plastic bag blowing in the wind

Your dog's stress has become your stress. You dread every walk. You can't invite people over. You're worried about the future.

And it's getting worse because reactivity compounds when left unaddressed.

It's not you. You're not failing at dog training. The methods you've been taught were never designed for reactive dogs.

Imagine a Life Without Constant Stress

Fast forward to a life where you pick up the lead and feel ease, not dread. Your dog walks loosely by your side, checks in instead of reacting, and can settle at home, in the park, and when friends visit.

With Reactive to Resilient your dog can learn to:

  • Walk on a loose lead without pulling, lunging, or bracing
  • Come back when you call, even with distractions
  • Relax at home or in public so life feels easy again
  • Cope with everyday triggers like traffic, doorbells, or sudden noises
  • Greet other dogs without jumping, barking, or panicking
  • Handle visitors with ease, no more barking or hiding
  • Feel safe when left alone, from short errands to full workdays
  • Accept vet care and grooming with less stress

And for you, that means:

  • Walks become something you actually look forward to, no more Dog Walk Dread
  • The freedom to invite friends over, take your dog out with you, live a normal life without planning around their stress
  • The end of the shame spiral. You stop feeling like you're failing your dog, and start trusting that you both know what you're doing

Why Traditional Dog Training Falls Short for Reactive Dogs

Traditional Dog TrainingReactive to Resilient
Focus on commands and obedience (the mind)Focus on the nervous system and emotions (the body) first
Use treats to distract from triggersAddress the root cause of the trigger
Try to suppress or punish the behaviourHelp the dog feel safe so the behaviour is no longer needed
Teaches skills from day 1Build safety first, then layer in dog training once it can stick
Offer a one-size-fits-all solutionCreate a personalised plan based on your dog's unique needs

I'm not just a dog trainer; I'm a nervous-system electrician. We have to fix the wiring first. When your dog's state changes from panicked to peaceful, the behaviour follows, and the training finally sticks.

"Winnie is behaving better not through control or coercion, but by having her needs better met and being a happier dog."

Meghan Butt, reactive dog trainer, connecting with anxious dog in East London

The East London Dog Trainer Who Does Things Differently

I'm Meghan, a certified TTouch Practitioner. After 8 years working with sensitive, anxious and reactive dogs across East London, I know that training alone doesn't shift reactivity. That's why I created Reactive to Resilient, which combines trauma-informed training with TTouch so your dog feels safe instead of panicked.

Reactive to Resilient brings this powerful approach to dog parents across Waltham Forest, Redbridge and Newham. My mission is to help caretakers live the life they imagined when they first brought them home.

Is This Right for You?

This is for you if:

  • You want 6 weeks of dedicated, hands-on support so you never have to guess what to do next
  • You want to understand why your dog reacts, not just manage it
  • You're open to a different approach that prioritises your dog's emotional wellbeing
  • You're based in Waltham Forest, Redbridge, or Newham
  • You want lasting change, not a quick fix

This isn't for you if:

  • You're looking for a quick fix or magic solution
  • You're not willing to practise between sessions
  • You want a trainer who uses punishment or dominance-based methods
  • You're not ready to invest time and effort into your dog's transformation

I'm so committed to your dog's transformation that I offer this promise: If you attend all sessions and follow the simple steps in your personalised roadmap, and you don't see a marked improvement in your dog's top challenges by the end of session 3, I'll work with you for two additional sessions, free.
